Welcome College Representatives

Each year, members of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) assist over 12,000 college bound high school seniors with college planning.  Although each member’s background is unique, every HECA member is committed to helping students find “best fit” college matches, while upholding the highest professional and ethics standards for college admissions consulting.

Founded in 1997 as a professional organization devoted exclusively to the professional practice of college admissions consulting, the Higher Education Consultants Association includes over 500 members from every region of the United States.  As an organization, HECA offers colleges and universities unique opportunities to communicate directly with our members including:

Annual Conference – HECA hosts an annual membership conference with more than 250 participants each year. College admissions and financial aid representatives are frequent guests and speakers at our conferences, updating our members about current admissions and financial aid trends. Each conference also includes a college fair where college admissions officers can network with HECA members. If your institution is interested in participating, please contact our Conference Chair at conference@hecaonline.org.

College Tours – HECA members are students of colleges. As part of our on-going commitment to professional development, our members frequently visit college campuses to learn about their unique characteristics. Each year, in conjunction with our Annual Conference, HECA sponsors a College Tour of various campuses. Our members also visit many campuses each year on their own and in conjunction with other counselor tours, and share their experiences with their HECA colleagues through our newsletter and other networking venues.

HECA Community Representatives - Would you like to have a fast, easy way to meet independent consultants when making the rounds to high schools in the fall and spring? Do small, group meetings where you have a chance to form relationships and share information about your college appeal to you? Would it be helpful to know one or two HECA members who can facilitate posting current information about your college on our website, information that hundreds of consultants tap into? Sponsorship/Advertising – Put your institution’s name in front of  over 500 professional college admissions consultants who assist more than 12,000 high school seniors with their college plans each year.
