Marlyn Doan Memorial Scholarship

HECA will not be awarding the Marlyn Doan Scholarship in 2017.

About the Scholarship

Marlyn Doan was a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association and served students and their families for over twenty years before her untimely death. In particular, Ms. Doan was devoted to students with learning and developmental challenges. In her memory, HECA established a scholarship fund in 2005 for students with documented learning and developmental differences who have worked with a HECA member consultant.

HECA is able to continue offering this Scholarship thanks to generous donations each year from HECA members and other interested parties.

Scholarship eligibility requirements:

  • The student must be working with a consultant who is a current member of the Higher Education Consultants Association.
  • The student is a current high school senior graduating in the year the scholarship is awarded.
  • The student has a current documented learning or developmental difference.
  • The student will enroll as a full-time or part-time student at an accredited not-for-profit two- or four-year college/university or technical school in the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded.
